🎵 Mary's Surprise 🎤 Jamaal Wagner 💿 Genre: R&B / Soul ABOUT THIS SONG "Mary's Surprise" is a reverent gospel-soul retelling of the Annunciation, the moment a young woman in Nazareth learns she has been chosen to carry the Son of God. The first verse sets the scene in a humble home, where an angel's sudden greeting leaves Mary stunned and searching for meaning. The chorus captures her astonishment and honest question, answered by the promise that nothing lies beyond God's power. The second verse deepens the message with the news of her cousin Elizabeth, whose own late-in-life pregnancy is proof that miracles are already unfolding. Mary cannot see the road ahead, but she begins to trust it. In the bridge, her wonder turns to surrender as she gives her humble yes, then rises into joyful praise when she visits Elizabeth. The final chorus marks her journey from awe to faith, and the outro lingers in quiet reverence as the angel departs and the promise settles over her life.
